The Health Research Institute of the Balearic Islands (IdISBa) is committed to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), integrating it into its management model, aimed at promoting participation, commitment, transparency, responsibility, equity, effectiveness, and efficiency, always with the goal of preserving sustainability.
The pillars of this governance and management model are reflected in policies and action guidelines that permeate the functioning and working methods of our organization.

The Ten Principles of CSR
IdISBa supports the Ten Principles of the Global Compact regarding human rights, labor rights, the environment, and anti-corruption.corrupció.
The Ten Principles are derived from: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Labour Organization Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the Rio Declaration on Environment and Sustainable Development, and the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
The Ten Principles are:
Human Rights
- Principle 1: Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights within their sphere of influence.
- Principle 2: Businesses should make sure they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
Labor Rights
Businesses should uphold:
- Principle 3: Freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining.
- Principle 4: The elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labor.
- Principle 5: The effective abolition of child labor.
- Principle 6: The elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
Environment
Businesses should:
- Principle 7: Support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges.
- Principle 8: Undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility.
- Principle 9: Encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
Anti-Corruption
- Principle 10: Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.
Commitment
As a participant in the Global Compact, we commit to:
- Supporting the Ten Principles of the Global Compact on human rights, labor rights, environmental protection, and anti-corruption.
- Promoting these principles within our sphere of influence and making a clear statement of this commitment among our stakeholders and the general public.
- Participating in Global Compact activities within our organization's scope.
- Reporting every two years to our stakeholders on our participation in the Global Compact and the efforts made to support the Ten Principles.
- Communicating every two years information about our commitment to the United Nations Global Compact on its website.
