Innovation Committee

The IdISBa Innovation Committee (CI) is the advisory body of the Institute in the development of its innovation-related functions.

Its functions are:

1. To propose to the Governing Bodies of IdISBa

  • Technology transfer agreements related to licensing and exploitation contracts of IdISBa's industrial/intellectual property rights.
  • Creation of spin-offs.
  • Protection of research results.
  • Prioritisation of projects to be submitted to innovation calls.

2. To advise IdISBa on

  • Definition and development of the Innovation Plan, strategic lines and innovation actions of the Institute.
  • Composition and prioritisation of ideas and projects within the Innovation Portfolio.
  • Other topics related to innovation and technological transfer.

3. To monitor the innovation projects carried out within IdISBa and their results.

Composition of the Innovation Committee:

The Scientific Director of IdISBa, acting as Chair.

The Director General for Health Research, Training and Accreditation.

The Managing Director of IdISBa.

A representative designated by the Management of HUSE.

A representative designated by the Management of HUSLL.

A representative designated by the UIB.

A representative designated by the Primary Care Management.

A representative designated by the Blood and Tissue Bank Foundation.

A representative designated by IB-Salut.

The Medical Care Director of IB-Salut.

The President of the Biotechnological and Biomedical Cluster of the Balearic Islands (BIOB), with voice but no vote.

A representative of the Balearic Foundation for Innovation and Technology (Fundació Bit), with voice but no vote.

The person responsible for UITRI-IdISBa, acting as secretary.

  • The Scientific Director may also invite any individuals deemed appropriate to attend meetings, with voice but no vote.

  • The CI must meet at least every three months and in extraordinary sessions whenever requested by its chair. In urgent cases, no more than fifteen days may elapse between the request and the meeting.

  • Meetings may be held either in person or online.
