Descripton | Flow Cytometry and Cell Biology

The Flow Cytometry and Cell Biology Platform provides specialised support to researchers in the analysis of cells through flow cytometry, cell culture, cellular metabolism studies, and bioprinting. Our goal is to facilitate biomedical research by offering technical advice, training, and access to state‑of‑the‑art equipment.

Flow cytometry consists of measuring the properties of individual cells or microscopic particles in suspension using fluorescent markers.

In addition to quantifying these markers in different cell populations, flow cytometry also allows the sorting and isolation of these populations based on their characteristics (Sorter).

In the Platform's Cell Culture Rooms, users can culture and experiment in vitro with different types of cell populations, including primary cultures and established cell lines.

Other equipment available includes the Seahorse XFe96, which enables metabolic analysis of live cells, and the CellInk Bio X6 bioprinter, which combines 3D printing with the deposition of living cells.
