Resources and Equipment

The IdISBa Biobank facilities are located on level -1 of the Son Espases University Hospital and include the following areas::

• Human Fluids Reception and Processing Laboratory:​​Reception, registration, and processing area for blood and other biological fluids.
• Histology Laboratory: A laboratory equipped with two microtomes for cutting fixed and paraffin‑embedded tissue, a cryostat for sectioning fresh frozen tissue, and a tissue embedder.
• Freezer and Refrigerator Room: ​​​​The Biobank's ultra‑low temperature freezers have a storage capacity of approximately 150,000 samples. All of them feature continuous temperature monitoring through My Sirius and are located on level -1 of HUSE, in a properly ventilated and access‑controlled area.The facility also includes an emergency backup -80 °C freezer.
• Data, Documentation, and Quality Management Area:
